The Present Kiss

The aphrodisiac of nostalgia
rained upon the feathery fields of goldenrod.
Diving into the past that never was, we cut out perfect paper dolls and made them legends in our mind.
You don’t have to tilt your head down to kiss the present truth. And you don’t have to tilt your head up to look at the future.
It is just two mouths face-to-face and you lean in and say, “Hello now.”
