Autumn

Long awaited autumn,
Come slithering and hithering and thithering
With dewdrops and clouds of whipped cotton.
Oh, what a relief for the summer that never quit.
There comes autumn again with its refuge and rain.
It won’t dampen my spirits, heavens no.
I see only a deluge of harvest in my hearty bones.
